For this occasion, we’ve invited Brett Crandall who is an actor/writer/producer/activist and PUPPETEER! We’ve got two events planned for this day: 1:00pm is a performance for the family (all-ages) – ONDINE: A QUEER FAIRYTALE featuring Brett Crandall and at 6:30pm for the adults (18+) – OPEN MIC & KARAOKE. All you have to have is love for puppets.
1:00pm – ONDINE: A QUEER FAIRYTALE is an all-ages performance with doors opening at 12:30pm. $5 $uggested Donation per family. Come make a puppet, ask Brett’s anything, and try an open mic performance of your own with family and friends.
about ONDINE: A QUEER FAIRYTALE A New LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Puppet Play based on the myths of Water Sprites. ONDINE tells the tale of how the titular character finds love when he meets a knight errant, Hans. But Ondine must make a pact with the Old One that should his beloved deceive him, Hans will die. As the two set out to marry before the King, Ondine will have to face the harsh, cold injustices of the human realm.
Can Ondine and Hans truly live happily ever after? Only with help from Ondine’s puppet friends of the deep.
With careful language crafted into hilarious yet insightful verse, ONDINE gives a lesson in emotional intelligence.LGBTQIA+ representation in media can lead to more empathy and allyship, as well as a much-needed sense of belonging for the LGBTQIA+ Community, especially its youth.

is open for adults (18+) and is hosted by Candice & The Business Casual.
$15/GA. Sign-ups and doors open at 6:00pm at Harvester Arts (215 N Washington). What would you do or say if you were a puppet? Take 5 minutes and let your puppet do the talking! If you have your own puppet, BYOP. Otherwise, we will have some DIY materials if you feel inspired. Dance party intermission and closing out the night with Puppet Karaoke!
8:30pm – PUPPET KARAOKE
is the second half of OPEN MIC and is hosted by Hugo Phan.
It is followed by Open Mic’s intermission/dance party. Sign-ups start at 8:00pm. Choose a song (via YouTube link), lip-sync, perform acapella, recite spoken word, or just sing along in the audience!
